OUR VISION

Progress Place’s vision is that all
people living with mental illness have
the opportunity for full recovery.

WHAT WE OFFER

Programs and Services

At Progress Place, we address social determinants of health by providing a supportive community - one that offers hope, respect, and opportunities for personal development.

For over 40 years, Progress Place has filled critical gaps in the mental health system, building a community of support grounded in connection, purpose, and belonging.

Through over 200,000 meaningful interactions in 2024-25 alone, we helped individuals facing mental health challenges, isolation, housing instability, food insecurity, unemployment, barriers to education, and more at our Clubhouse, Community Place Hub, Supportive Housing, Peer Support, and Seniors programs.

While traditional treatment addresses symptoms, we also focus on the social conditions impacting mental and physical health, including loneliness, now recognized by the World Health Organization as a serious health risk linked to a 25% higher chance of early death. Progress Place helps members gain the skills, confidence, and stability they need for lasting recovery and reduce hospitalizations by 85%, proving that community is essential to quality of life and health outcomes.

    Clubhouse

The Clubhouse is dedicated to the recovery of individuals living with mental illness.  Open 365 days a year, we offer comprehensive mental health, wellness, employment, education, and social recreation programs and services.

We are committed to helping people to stay out of hospital and achieve their goals. In 2024-25 the Clubhouse supported 1175 members on their path to recovery.

  • Community Place Hub

    Community Place Hub

The Community Place Hub in Weston is an inclusive, multi-generational one-stop shop for health and social services, created to meet the diverse needs of its high-rise suburban neighborhood where access to care is limited.

The Hub reduces barriers like poverty and isolation by connecting residents with essential supports through partnerships that deliver accessible, community-based services. In 2024, the Hub made over 2,000 service referrals, served 25,110 meals, and recorded 20,851 attendance days, along with thousands of additional drop-in visits.

    Seniors

Progress Place’s Seniors Programs offer a welcoming community space for individuals aged 55+ living with mental health and/or complex health issues. Members participate in engaging programs and activities, enjoy nutritious meals, build meaningful social connections, and access vital resources, healthcare, and support.

To meet the growing need to support vulnerable seniors to age at home successfully, in 2024 we partnered with Toronto Seniors Housing Corporation to expand our weekly, clubhouse-modelled Seniors Program Day to four TSHC buildings. Now serving nearly 400 seniors, the program has provided 7,825 healthy, affordable meals, supporting wellness, connection, and independence for older adults.

    Warm Line

The Warm Line, Canada’s first of its kind, is a confidential and anonymous peer support service available by phone, text, and online chat for adults seeking a compassionate, understanding ear. Staffed by trained peers with lived experience of loneliness, isolation, and anxiety, the Warm Line offers genuine connection when it's needed most.

In 2024–25, we supported adults feeling isolated or lonely through 20,089 interactions, more than double our annual target. This was made possible by one-time funding that allowed us to extend service hours by two additional hours each day.

In 2024-25 we offered 571 weekly meetings virtually and in-person at various Toronto locations attended by 4899 anonymous participants.
